AM089 XXLge Face with Scarf
The film canister fairy is made with recycled elements dabbed with alcohol inks,
head done with scarf lady moulded head, feet and hands in air dry clay painted
with pearlescent acrylics - this was done for Linda's (Aftermidnight Art Stamps)
'found object' challenge in 2005 - the film canister was the found object that
was the basis for the piece, which had to be created using materials sold on the
After Midnight website. There are wings made from Sheer heaven coloured with
alcohol inks, and the trousers and sleeves were made of punchinella coloured
with alcohol inks.

Beeswax was used to pour the moulds, and it was colored with a tiny bit of the
encaustic wax. Encaustic waxes have a lot of pitment, and a very intense colour,
so a little goes a long way.
The casts were finished with metallic buffing waxes and/or Pearl Ex to bring out
the detail. |
