Baubles
using
KL “C” Lge Funky Alphabet C
KL “M” Lge Funky Alphabet M
Also used Sculpey III, Lumiere paints, gold micro beads, 80mm glass baubles,
Luminarte Primary Elements Starter Kit No. #2, Krylon gold leafing pen, gold
cord, gold beading wire, assorted beads and gold satin ribbon.
To colour the inside of the baubles, I removed the cap and poured ½ teaspoon of
Simple Solution No. 2 (from the Primary Elements Starter Kit) into the bauble. I
swirled the solution around the inside of the bauble to make sure that the
entire surface was coated. The excess solution was drained back into the bottle.
Using the spoon provided in the kit to help control the placement of the powder,
I placed several spoons of the first colour onto the inside of the bauble and
gently tapped it to distribute the powder randomly. I used a second colour for
contrast and gently tapped again. After placing the third colour inside the
bauble, I placed my thumb over the end and gave it a good shake to make sure
that any loose powder was distributed to areas where the first two colours
hadn’t covered. I changed the colour of the bauble cap with Krylon gold leafing
pen and once it was dry, carefully placed the cap back on the bauble.

Rose Leaf Bracelet
using
AM011 Med Leaf
AM247 Med Leaf Med
Also used Sculpey III, garnet stone chips, glass and metal beads and jewellery
findings.
For this bracelet, I cast 1 small leaf (AM247) and 3 large leaves (AM011). Using
one of the large leaves, I trimmed away one edge to create a serrated edge.
Using a scalpel, I cut away the inside of the other 2 large leaves so that I had
two border leaves and 2 small solid cutout leaves. Only one of the small solid
cutout leaves is required so I discarded the other one. You now have one
serrated edge leaf, 2 border leaves, 1 small solid cut out leaf, and one small
leaf. Pierce holes in all but the border leaves and bake according to the
manufacturer's instructions. Once cooled, I applied a coat of Sculpey gloss varnish to all surfaces. The cut
away leaves are attached with jump rings.
|
Rose Leaf Earrings
using
AM247 Med Leaf Med
Also used Sculpey III, glass and metal beads and jewellery findings.
I poked holes vertically through the stems of the open leaves to attach the
dangling round beads before baking. The cut out pieces are pierced from front to
back. Once baked and cooled, all pieces were coated with Sculpey gloss varnish
and assembled with beads and jumprings.

AM245 X4Lge 5 Dominoes
Also used Opals: Franklin and Currawong; Fantasy Film: In the Glen, Waterfall
and Dandelion; 20g wire, assorted jewellery findings and black cord. |
Bead Chain Choker
Using
AM245 X4Lge 5 Dominoes
Also used Opals: Franklin and Currawong; Fantasy Film: Strawberry and Dandelion;
black organza ribbon, black cord, gold beaded cord, gold cord, assorted
jewellery findings and black cardstock.
I made the beads by rolling a thin strip of black card around a skewer and
glueing in place. Once secure, I dipped the rolled card (still on the skewer)
into Franklin Opals and then wrapped a strip of Strawberry Fantasy Film
(slightly narrower and roughly the same length as the card stock) part way
around the “bead”. I dipped it again in the Opals so that the tail of Fantasy
Film was laying in the melted Opals. The colour will change almost immediately.
Once this happens, I roll the remaining strip around the rest of the bead. Dip
in Opals one last time and twirl slowly in your fingers to stop drips from
forming. Doing this will give you a roughly cylindrical bead. Remove the bead
once it has set and set aside to cool.

AM087 Med Pyramid Eye
Also used Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound, Lumiere and acrylic paints, Krylon
Gold Leafing pen, assorted gold jewelry findings, assorted gold beads, semi
precious stone chips and seed beads, 26 gauge beading wire, knitting needles. |
Bracelet
Instructions
To make the bracelet, I threaded approximately 150 beads onto a roll of 26 gauge
wire. You'll need at least 3m wire to complete this project. Leaving a 20cm
tail, I cast on 5 stitches using 3.75mm needles. Then I knitted the first row
(and every odd row), including a bead in every stitch. I purled the second row
(and every even row), also including a bead in every stitch. I continued back
and forth, knitting and purling, including beads, until the length was about 2cm
short of my wrist measurement. Then I cast off leaving a tail about 20cm long to
weave through the 5 hole bar. Next I attached the bars at each end and then the
jewelry findings.
The casting is attached with silicone adhesive to a triangular chandelier
earring finding and the loops are secured into the knitted wire with 3mm jump
rings.

Wooden Bangle
using
AM251 Sm Mini Frog
Also used Premo, Fimo Classic, Sculpey III and Sculpey Gloss Varnish.
To create the mahogany woodgrain I created a blend of 1 part Bordeaux Red Fimo
Classic to 1 part Premo Burnt Umber. I then took 2 parts Bordeaux/Burnt Umber
blend and 1 part Sculpey III gold and 1 part Sculpey III black and rolled it
into a log. Then I folded the log in half and rolled it into a log again.
Occasionally, I twisted the folded log before rolling it to give it some
interesting swirls. I continued doing this until the marbling was fine but
stopped before the colours had completely blended.
The pine was created using the same roll and fold method except using 2 parts
gold to one part white as the base colour. I then used one part of this blend
to 1 part beige and small snakes of white and burnt umber.
I rolled the mahogany into a strip long enough to wrap around my wrist and
gently shaped the ends. The frogs are cast with the pine blend. I cast
one, trimming away the excess and overcast two others in a roughly square
shape. All were applied to the mahogany strip before baking. To support the
bangle during baking, I rolled a strip of aluminium foil into a log, curved it
into shape and then gently wrapped the bangle around the foil so that it was
standing upright.

Waterfall Leaf Necklace and Earrings Set
using

AM247 Med Leaf Med
Also used black Sculpey III, Waterfall Fantasy Film, Franklin Opals, fire
polished beads, metal beads, assorted jewellery findings and nylon coated tiger
tail.
I cast the leaf with black Sculpey and baked it according to the manufacturer's
instructions. Once it had cooled, I used an adhesive that dries tacky and
applied a piece of Fantasy Film over the surface. Using my fingernail, I pushed
the film down into the detail of the leaf. I trimmed away the excess film and
then dipped it in melted Franklin Opals, first the front and then once set, I
dipped the back and set it aside until it hardened.
