Lid of Box
using
AM123 XXLge Set of Wings (1)
AM125 XLge Trojan Horse
AM228 Med 6 Petals
KL "F"- Lge Funky Alphabet F
RP198 Med Bee
RP206 XLge Lady with Shawl
Horse cast from
a
mix of White and Translucent Sculpey III. F and Wings cast with Delight Air Dry
Modelling Compound. Also used Collections Shrine, Artchix German Paper Scraps. Plain photocopy paper
was scrunched up adhered to the lid, and painted with Pearl Violet Lumiere
"diluted" with Jo Sonja Pearl White, then accented slightly with straight Violet
paint. The wings were painted with Jo Sonja Rich Gold then highlighted with a
Krylon gold pen. The horse was also highlighted with a Krylon pen. The F and the
6 petal flower were accented with Pearl Ex.
The bees were stamped on paper, and on acetate, the bodies were cut out of the paper and the wings and thorax from the acetate, and I then glued the bodies onto the wings. The acetate for the wings was coloured with Marvy Metallics. Alcohol inks could also be used.
The legs are rounded wooden dice, sanded and painted.

RP434 Lge Set of 3 Fleur de Lys
The background is a wash of Pearl Violet Lumiere and Warm White Jo Sonja paints.
The microscope slide was stamped using black StaZon.
The gold trim around the microscope slide is gold tape available at lead
lighting shops. The background in the microscope slide is acetate
(same as wings on cover). Alphabet letters cast from Sculpey Ultra Light and painted with Lumiere Magenta,
the heart was cast with Makin's clay and painted with Lumiere Magenta. Both
the Letters and Script were highlighted using a gold Krylon pen.
The script was cast with a mix of a very small portion of Red and lots of Metallic
Sculpey III, I applied gold Pearl Ex to the casting and then removed from the top of the script.
Sayings were stamped on vellum and adhered to the background with the 3M Vellum tape.
The skeleton leaf was painted with
Pearl Violet Lumiere. When I finished painting the box I removed the excess paint
from the paintbrushes onto
some scrap paper, that's the paper I used to stamp the Leonardo women onto.
All images were stamped using Brilliance Victorian Violet.

also used an architectural stamp by Bella Rosa
. The background is "heated pearls". Both architectural stamps were stamped on large pieces of mica.
The skeleton leaf was painted with Pearl Magenta Lumiere, the word “goddess'stamped onto acetate and mounted on a domino, then a metal frame aged with black patina and
affixed to the top of the acetate. The Fleur de Lys was cast from a mix of White and
Translucent Sculpey III.

Side view (both sides)
using
AM149 Lge Clover
The Clovers were cast from Delight clay, and painted with the Pearl Magenta and
Pearl Violet Lumiere paints. I often dilute the paints with some Jo Sonja Pearl
White when I find the colours too intense. The paint for the background is
stippled on with a paintbrush, this gives it texture. Play with paint tones
using the Pearl White paint for extra depth and texture.

The left side of the inside
using
AM111 XLge Maysie's Key
AM179 X4Lge Lock 1
On this side, the inside of the box was simply painted with one nice coat of
Violet Lumiere. The casts were painted with the Magenta, and they were
highlighted with Jo Sonja Pale cold paint, applied with a fairly dry brush.
|
The right side of the inside
using
AM128 XLge Greek Column
AM228 Med 6 Petals
Column was cast with Sculpey Ultralight (I love that medium!!!) and painted with Pearl Magenta Lumiere,
the 6 Petals Flowers were cast from paper clay and painted with Pearl Violet.
The flowers and column were highlighted with Gold Pearl Ex.
